Barry & Marie Smith purchased this house from Jim and Marriana Ennis in the summer of 2018. This is a homecoming for Barry, he was born in Wellfleet and his grandfather built the house in 1953. For many years it was occupied by his aunt and uncle, and he has a lot of fond memories visiting there with his 6 cousins.
The house is on a ½ acre lot, across Kendrick Ave from Mayo Beach. The land was part of a large plot of land purchased by Barry’s grandfather in 1949. In the queen bedroom next to the living room, there is a plot plan of the land purchased in a tax sale. It shows lots, with X's on them, some circled. The X’s represented lots that were sold and the circled one were ones where his grandfather built a house.
In 2019 we added an upstairs bedroom, half bath and a balcony. From the balcony you can see the harbor to the east and witness the beautiful sunsets to the west. It is a great place to sit and relax, enjoy a morning cup of coffee or read a book.
The house it within walking distance of recreational activities (tennis, pickleball, skateboarding, etc.) and many fine restaurants, gift shops and galleries. It is a short walk to town where you can find a local food market, liquor store, bank, seafood market and shops.
